FORTHCOMING BOOK

The House at Goodwater

William Jourdan Whiteman, the Choctaw Nation, and a Family Across the Making of Oklahoma.

The complete story belongs here.

The website offers concise historical articles and selected evidence. The forthcoming book preserves the larger narrative: W. J. and Mattie, Goodwater, the Harris and Pitchlynn connections, business and public life, Native allotment and guardianship records, the generations of the house, and the preservation effort that brought the story into the twenty-first century.

Full chapters will not be published on this website. That protects the book as a fundraising product while allowing the website's historical pages to introduce the people and places responsibly.

Preservation purpose: proceeds from the book are planned to support the Whiteman Home preservation effort.

Publication information, cover art and purchase links will be added here as the book moves toward release.
