OUR STORY

A place generations have called home.

Roy Whiteman is a great-grandchild of W. J. Whiteman and is working to preserve the family's connection to Goodwater.

The purpose

This project has two connected goals: preserve the historical record and secure the property's future. Family photographs, archival records and newspaper reports are being assembled here so the history remains accessible rather than disappearing into boxes, attics and memory.

The fundraising goal is $125,000 by May 2027. The campaign is focused publicly on the home, the family history and the preservation effort.

A note on accuracy. Family tradition associates the home with 1893. The website does not present that exact construction year as proven. What is documented is W. J. Whiteman's nineteenth-century connection to Goodwater and extensive later records of his life there.
