W. J. Whiteman Biography, 1923
A source note from the Whiteman Family Historical Archive.
What the record documents
A 1923 biographical account states that W. J. Whiteman was born in Clarksville, Texas, in 1869 and came to Indian Territory in 1893, settling at Goodwater. It also describes his farm, merchandise business and banking interests.
Evidence boundary
Supports: the reported 1893 settlement in Goodwater and later farming, merchandising and banking activity. This is a later biographical source, not a contemporaneous 1893 record.
Research standard
This archive distinguishes family tradition from independently documented evidence. Links are provided to the underlying record whenever practical so readers can inspect the evidence directly.
